Early Beginnings

Starting on a former industrial workspace of an iron foundry in Speyer, Germany GGS formerly sold geotechnical instruments for meteorological and environmental monitoring. Important research institutions like the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) and the German Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (DGPF) have been cooperating in the fields of Geology, Meteorology, Geomorphology and Pedology since then.

Development

In the late 1990s GPS/DGPS technology as well as GIS became a dominant part of our business. Being a basis for further development, aerial surveys and photogrammetry became the most important topics of the business. A GNSS-INS based gyrostabilizer was the first turnkey solution developed and produced in our company and made GGS develop into one of the leading companies in the field of aerial survey.

Today

Our international team at GGS develops, integrates and supports systems for various data acquisitions. The wide product portfolio contains single and multi-sensor setups using oblique imagery (OIS), thermal cameras, hyper-spectral scanners and laser scanning (Lidar). We further offer different platforms and carrying systems for aircrafts and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV or UAS) which can be equipped with gyro stabilized mounts or gimbals. Our services contain amongst others mission planning and flight management or training in the installation and integration of our products, which are one key element of our success. Still in nowadays we are contributing with our own developments to the growth of the importance of aerial surveys, orthofotos and photogrammetry in research as well as global markets.
